BMX108

$1,090.00

Description

A true powder ski, constructed for diverse and difficult terrain. The Double Hollowtech, low camber geometry, and rocker technology deliver enormous boost in powder. The dual radius big mountain sidecut has a greater radius in the ski tip for extraordinary stability and forgiving handling. The hook-free tip geometry guarantees smooth steering in variable snow conditions. The decreased radius at the ski tail provides agility in mixed terrain and creates precision edge transitioning. The sidewalls are highly durable ABS used to withstand the demands of backcountry terrain. Double Hollowtech in the tip and the tail reduce weight and mass.

Features

Sandwich sidewall • Beech/poplar core • Early rise tip • 180/360 low camber technology • Double Hollowtech • ABS sidewalls

Round 4 – Dream Trip, Adventure skiing in Europe and Scandinavia, Pick 9
My dream trip would be a two- to three-month long exploration of unskied peaks in Europe and Scandinavia in search of steeps and deep snow. Believing in a brand that you skied on more than 20 years ago is one thing. But trying that brand with a new explosion of youth added to it is a whole other thing. The BMX (Big Mountain Extreme) 108 is a weapon of mass destruction. The perfect amount of early rise coupled with traditional (though slight) camber underfoot. Kastle’s beech and poplar wood core provides super stability at high speeds on either soft or hard snow. The 177cm length has a turning radius of 28m, so I feel right at home making my big girl turns on these gems. Don’t be mistaken; this ski is not soft. At all. But I love the way it nudges me out of a turn as soon as I think about transitioning edges.

Round 4 – Dream Trip
I had to pick this ski for my Dream Trip, the one tool I need for my round-the-world odyssey to Chile, Alaska, Japan, and Europe. While this ski is targeted at deep snow, it skis really well everywhere. My dream trip would not just be aimed for deep snow, but also for steeps and fun features as well. The 108 is narrow and responsive enough to tackle steep, dicey terrain, but has enough girth and rocker to crush powder. It also has technology called Dual Hollowtech, which makes it a light ski for such a big mountain charger. The 108 does it all.
