Round 4 – Dream Trip, Heli Skiing Alaska, Pick 6
There’s something about scanning an area and realizing you’re about to make the first track for as far as you can see. The Fischer Watea 114s made that first track. The run was Rock Springs in Jackson, and there was a foot of fresh. The ski’s unique Powder Hull technology was created for runs like this—when you want to push snow to the side, versus shoveling it forward (think a boat cutting through water). Though it’s a soft ski meant for life’s best runs, a carbon I-beam in its wood core keeps it edgeable on the hardpack. These skis were made for that heli trip to Valdez you keep putting off. No exotic trip can match a bluebird day in Alaska (or so I’m told), and this is the ski to bring.Other Draft Picks By Tess Weaver
