Skier's Choice Draft Picks
Round 1 – Powder Selection, Pick 10When I first got on a pair of Royales, I took one look at the 150-122-140 dimensions and vertical sidewalls, and thought, “This is going to hurt the knees.” It was at Red Mountain and there was a little bit of fresh snow over bumps, but far from the full-on powder conditions where these should shine. What I found instead was a relatively light ski that is incredibly forgiving and responsive. The Royale has a full-length poplar and birch core, flat camber underfoot with generous rocker in the tip and tail.
|Description||This ski does it all, but is happiest floating through deep powder or over pillows or through trees or cutting the crud or looking epic in lift lines or making your day. Stiffer than most BC-freestyle rockers, the Royale is stable at speed while maintaining a light weight (4700gm/pair) so you can get freestyle with them. The new 190cm version is more directional than the 175 and 183 models for higher stability at speed.|
|Features||Sandwich construction • Full-length poplar core with birch stringers • Medium-stiff flex • Anti-chipping sidewalls • Full-wrap one-piece edges • Ptex-4000 die-cut bases • Twin mount points|
