Round 1 – Powder Selection, Pick 10
When I first got on a pair of Royales, I took one look at the 150-122-140 dimensions and vertical sidewalls, and thought, “This is going to hurt the knees.” It was at Red Mountain and there was a little bit of fresh snow over bumps, but far from the full-on powder conditions where these should shine. What I found instead was a relatively light ski that is incredibly forgiving and responsive. The Royale has a full-length poplar and birch core, flat camber underfoot with generous rocker in the tip and tail. Other Draft Picks By Derek Taylor
