Round 2 – All-Mountain Selection, Pick 7
When I show up to my local mountain with anything wider than a 95mm waist on a non-powder day, I get a lot of looks. From the lifties to fellow skiers, they all throw out comments: “Where’s the powder?” and “Wow, those are fat!” Truth is, I like a fat ski for my daily driver, even on the East Coast. Which is why the DPS Wailer 105 Pure is a perfect all-mountain fit for my style of riding. This ski is extremely light due to its pure carbon-fiber construction, which allows it to be nimble all over the mountain. Tree laps, railing on early morning corduroy, even taking advantage of the Wailer’s practically non-existent swing weight in the park, this ski does it all. I just look at the haters and nod.
