Round 1 – Powder Selection, Pick 5
My perfect set-up: the ultra buttery Armada VJJs—the slightly less-stiff version of the popular JJ—which make a beautiful “pat-pat” noise when landing in the deepness. Its got a rockered tip and tail for powder performance, but positive camber underfoot allows for fun carving on everything from sun crud to groomers. Originally, I was (and still am) a staunch supporter of the Rossi S7 Women. But, one run on the VJJs and I was converted. The two skis are similar—both barreling through everything from pow, to corn snow, to spring heaviness, while also allowing the skier to really lay ’em on edge. But I found the VJJs to be a tad more responsive in the trees and indefinitely lighter thanks to Armada’s Hybrid Ultralight Core—a high priority for a petite ripper. Other Draft Picks By Leah Fielding
