Round 2 – All-Mountain Selection, Pick 15
Corbet’s Couloir is a great test for any ski, and first impressions are usually the ones you should stick with. So first run at Powder Week, I took the Armada guys straight to Corbet’s with the TST underfoot. (Editor’s note: This new ski from Armada is a tribute to Travis Steeger, the 19-year-old phenom from Nelson, B.C., who was tragically killed in a hit and run in 2009.) With Armada’s “all-mountain rocker,” which is tip rocker with a flat tail, the TST is billed as an all-conditions ski. Smooth and easy to turn. This ski can really work from tip to tail. After the wake-up run, we head over to Granite Canyon. Lots of freshies, which these skis love. Some chunder at the bottom of The Needle and the skis seem to dampen the imperfections like independent suspension. Do I make this look easy? Or is it the skis?Other Draft Picks By Benny Wilson
