Round 1 – Powder Selection, Pick 1
I didn’t bother to find out what the drafters with picks two through 15 would’ve traded me for the first pick in the 2012 Fantasy Draft, though I’m sure the Jaded Local would’ve offered something sketchy and fun. With the number one pick, I select the 4FRNT CRJ out of Salt Lake City, Utah. As a kid, I envisioned tossing a bio 12 in the U.S. Open and meeting up with Poor Boyz to put on a show for the cameras while hanging with the C-Crew. The CRJ didn’t magically turn me into one-tenth of the skier that C.R. Johnson was, but the feeling of having them under my feet, on any terrain, is second to none. With traditional sidecut and camber, this ski is a real dream in powder, pops like a park ski, and is light enough to sling over the shoulder on a bootpack. The CRJ is comfortable anywhere.
