Rossignol Soul 7
Skier's Choice Description
The new Soul 7 is my ski of the year. Its solid yet versatile chassis carves on the groomers and maneuvers through moguls equally well. The lightweight extremities (a honeycomb material called Air Tip) reduce swingweight and increase fun while decreasing unwanted flapping found in heavier tips and tails. The new tip profile darted through the crud without deflection but floated in the powder. The low tail rocker is useful at speed and for landings but still allowed the ski to change turn shape, shimmy in a tight chute, or casually ride switch. I like the Soul 7 so much I—m getting a pair for the backcountry, too. —Olin Glenne
Shop Rat Description
A true quiver killer, with rocker tip, camber underfoot, and a 17m radius, the mid-fat Soul 7 is a welcome rebirth for Rossi. A new honeycomb air tip reduces the swingweight in the tip and tail, but doesn’t sacrifice the ski’s stability. Even with a lighter core, this ski powers crud all day. You’ll appreciate the ski’s lightness when you ride bell-to-bell, skiing fresh tracks in the morning and bumps in the afternoon. The Soul 7 truly is one ski to rule them all, all day long. —Mike Trioli
