K2 Pinnacle 130
Skier's Choice Description
For 2014, K2 debuts boots. The Pinnacle 130, K2’s top boot in the freeride category and available in two last sizes, uses a hybrid liner with a traditional, powerful upper and an Intuition lower for a warm, customizable fit. The boots also come with DIN soles that have integrated tech fittings, so you can be assured of greater strength and stiffness compared to replaceable sole plates. The Pinnacle is a three-buckle boot with a fourth buckle/power strap combo that provides the strength of a buckle but is easily disengaged to release the cuff for better touring efficiency. The Pinnacle, though, still needs improvements. The boot had excellent power transfer, was quick edge-to-edge with little slop—but the fit could use some work in the forefoot. They also need a snow gasket—after a few powder laps, I had snow packed in my clear green shell. —Ryan Rubino
PrecisionFit Tour Intuition (molded/lasted), Synchro Interlock, PowerFuse SpYne, Replaceable DIN-compatible Outsoles, Padded Mid-Grip, 45mm K2 PowerBuckle, Integrated Tech Fittings, Dual Cuff Alignment.
