Dalbello Krypton Lupo S.P.
Skier's Choice Description
If you want a burly freeride boot with a few luxurious options, look no further: three-piece construction, out-of-the-box anatomical fit, rubber-clad arch sole, replaceable toe and heels, a stiff 130 flex, and Sean Pettit’s endorsement. Dalbello made sure that adding rubber soles to the KR2 didn’t affect downhill performance by placing plastic everywhere the boot comes in contact with the binding, which is noticeable when your other boots have full Vibram soles. Even so, the Lupo’s rubber sole provides a ton of added traction over its predecessors, and the simple yet beefy walk mode works great for short to moderate hikes. But this boot isn’t built for long tours—it’s built for charging down big mountains at high speeds. —Alex Buecking
