Description
The TLT5 Performance TF, which has a carbon cuff, is a lightweight, no-frills touring boot that jogs better than most alpine boots walk. They are so light (2100g/pair) that you expect them to be sloppy on the descent. This is where the “elf shoe” will surprise you. For such a light, flexible boot on the uphill, the downhill performance is amazingly solid. The buckling mechanisms are a little difficult to operate when it’s cold, but the flip side to that is the top buckle (what Dynafit calls the ultra-lock) is the walk/ski mode, so you never drop in with your boots set to tour. - Derek Taylor
