| Description | (Editor’s Note: Full disclosure…A few months after penning this review after Powder Week, Erme was hired by DPS to conduct marketing, and more powder skiing.) DPS says skiing the Lotus 138 in deep snow is, “an entirely different sport.” They’re right… and to be fair I’ve skied on a lot skis that are rockered/cambered underfoot/zero cambered, etc. However, if I’m taking one ski to a powder playground, no question the Lotus 138 is coming with. Combined with DPS’s Star Wars-esque carbon technology, the ski weighs in around four pounds, and the hybrid still only less than five pounds. After a nuclear, powder-filled morning in Jackson on these, I was hooked. The ski just slashes like no other, it’s like Mario Bros. skiing. It should come to no surprise either; DPS’s lead engineer Pete Turner worked with Shane McConkey to engineer and build the groundbreaking Volant Spatula - .Erme Catino |
