Nordica Helldorado

DREAM TRIP: Last Frontier Heli, Vernon, British Columbia. Grab your bags, we’re going heliskiing. And I’m taking the Helldorado. It’s a huge ski for huge mountains. Slight camber underfoot, with tip-and-tail rocker draped in a matte black reminiscent of Metallica. Propelling this beast are two sheets of titanium and a wood core. The ski loves speed and eats up vertical. The Hammerhead tip dampens the ski in variable snowpack. Out in the cold, I head down Foxes-Bernie’s, which has a lot of everything: steeps, groomer, chunder, rock band in the middle, powder exit, and a cliff at the bottom for good measure.- Captain Benny Wilson
