Icelantic Gypsy

DREAM TRIP: To Russia, With Love. Rails in St. Petersburg. Tours around Elbrus. Heli-skiing in Kamchatka. Poma laps on the shores of Lake Baikal. On my Trans-Siberian exploration, I would need only one ski: the Gypsy. On paper, the Gypsy appears to be another backcountry jib ski: nearly symmetrical, fully rockered, and flat underfoot. However, the stiff- ness underfoot and gradual sidecut combine to create a confidence-inducing, chatter-free sensation at high speed and is enjoyable in variable conditions. Even at 125mm underfoot, the ski is surprisingly nimble and works in the park. - Will Eginton
