It has been almost five years since Sam Caylor gave up the dream of developing the world’s first twin-tip mogul monoblade to instead refine a ski that excels on the type of terrain found at his home hill of Mount Baker. The result is the ON3P Caylor, though it’s not your run-of-the-mill fat noodler. The Caylor’s 120mm waist and 148cm of effective edge work together to create a stable platform for smashing pillows, slashing trenches, and stomping big landings in deep snow. Their rocker-flat-rocker profile, slight tip taper, and 27m turn radius all contribute to the ski’s maneuverability across a wide spectrum of conditions. For early-season powder jonsers like myself, their fat edges, bombproof sidewalls, and deep bases enable the Caylor to stand up to skiing habits that other companies might consider excessively abusive.- Alex Buecking
