Round 5 – Boot Selection, AT/Sidecountry/Telemark, Pick 13
It’s an AT boot, but I use the Mobe more than anything else, even inbounds. I skied this lightweight but stiff four-buckle boot all year long in Jackson, wore it while chugging beers in the Gelande Quaffing World Championships and took it to Switzerland for glacier travel and steep couloirs. All the while, I swapped it back and forth between alpine DIN bindings and Dynafit tech bindings using the same awesome rugged sole. (Using this boot in an alpine DIN binding can’t be recommended by shops—or this magazine—because the Mobe’s sole is not DIN compatible. But I do it anyway). Very few boots do it all as well as the Mobe.Other Draft Picks By Matt Hansen
