Round 5 – Boot Selection, Resort Choice, Pick 9
I’ve tried a lot of different boots, and Salomon fits my foot the best. I’ve been in the Ghost 130 since 2008, and have more than 300 days in them. The two-buckle system is secure, but convenient for the quick unbuckle before getting on the lift. The drawbacks I experienced: They were difficult to get on in cold weather, and I had a minor instep pinch that my boot fitters were able to fix in one session. New for this year, Salomon softened up the flex just a bit, making them a little more user friendly when putting them on, and replaced the shell material with Salomon’s Custom Shell, eliminating other fit problems. The last and fit remain the same, so this boot will still perform.Other Draft Picks By Derek Taylor

Round 5 – Boot Selection, Resort Choice
This is the premiere big mountain ski boot. It has high performance and technology, a done deal from the first turn. Two buckles kill weight and allow the boot to flex where another 130 flex race or plug boot won’t. Allowing you to sustain powder turns and not be forced by the boot out of your turn. If you need stiff boots but don’t want the race format, this is it. It is light enough to hike in and out of the resort all day. I have never skied a boot quite like the Ghost.Other Draft Picks By Mike Trioli
