Round 5 – Boot Selection, Resort Choice, Pick 7
Last fall, I broke my ankle in a terrible accident involving a slowly moving freight train. The silver lining of the incident was that it forced me to buy an alpine setup (tele turns on hardpack are jarring on a healing ankle). The Salomon Ghost made my transition from three years of tele skiing more than easy. Like a lot of tele skiers, I want a boot that is powerful but doesn’t make me hurt. The Ghost, even with just two buckles, accomplishes that. It does have a beefy strap and 100 flex after all, and getting in and out of my ski boots is no longer a dramatic event full of failed attempts, wincing and tears.Other Draft Picks By John Davies
