Skier's Choice Draft Picks

Round 5 – Boot Selection, AT/Sidecountry/Telemark, Pick 15
This is the first AT boot I’ve ever owned and I’m never going on a big tour again without a walk mode. I’d recommend dropping an Intuition liner in these boots as the higher cuff and wrap design improved the flex while making the gram counters happy by lightening the load. The huge toe box is great for my wide feet and I love the buckle snap system to keep the top buckles in place when unbuckled. While these boots don’t quite have the flex to be my everyday resort boot, they will be on my feet every time I’ve got a trek in front of me and will make me think twice every time I grab my alpine boots.Other Draft Picks By Ian Fohrman
Additional Information
| Description | There is not a ski mountaineering boot on the market that performs as well as the Radium, truly the best of both worlds- touring and skiing. The Radium's unique overlap design allows the cuff and lower shell to function independently when walking providing an easy, comfortable stride. When you buckle down, this boot morphs into a stiff and responsive machine for secure, powerful descents. It's responsive multi-injected lower shell and cuff are built from Pebax® for the lightest weight and least temperature sensitivity. |
