Round 6 – Binding Selection, Pick 15
The Guide Series is the first touring binding line from Plum, a French company that has made rando-race bindings since 2001. At 670 grams per pair, the Guide weighs about the same as the Dynafit TLT Speed, and slightly less than the TLT Vertical. Its stated retention (5.5-12 DIN) is on par with Dynafit’s burliest binding. They currently only have a handful of distributors in North America, which are listed on their website (fixation-plum.com). I’d never heard of Plum until I saw Glen Plake rocking a pair. And, you know, he’s a pretty good little skier.
